10/15/07

This weekend was pretty intense. I went to visit my brother who is staying in Gainsville. He is going to the University of Florida. I went there because at Camp Kulaqua they were having this high school retreat over the weekend so I went for one day to hang out with Kayla and some of my friends. The retreat was sponsored by my church. I got there on Saturday morning for the service which was pretty good. The preaching was great and the songs were good. After the service they had an activity where you could go and get close to God. It was sort of like meditating and reading the bible.
So Kayla and I found a quiet spot where we were reading and what not and it was good. Then we went and had lunch at the cafeteria, but my brother and I brought our lunch because we didn't know if we could get lunch their because it was only for people who payed. We found out later that we could so we had dinner there. We changed and went canueing in the spring-like river they have their. They have this little sort of tree house like place were you can climb up on and that is where I asked out Kayla. By the way she said yes. So that was pretty sweet.
After that we went to some seminars, fooled around, went to some baptisms and had dinner.
After dinner there was a service were Kayla and a bunch of her friends sang. They sounded pretty good and after that we had guys vs. girls dodge ball tournament. The girls also had the staff so it was fairly even. I was one of the last 8 guys out of 200 or so who stayed in the game. It was pretty tight. Then we saw some magician guy do some stuff that was kind of boring. After that we left and went back to my brother's apartment. That was my Saturday of this weekend.
